Nature around us.

We are very fortunate to live in an area with great diversity in flora and fauna and when we talk about birdwatching Córdoba province can offer over 280 species of birds and of course, most of them can be seen in the Sierras Subbéticas National Park.

This area is home to a variety of landscapes from rocky mountains to mid-mountain plains to wetlands where Iznájar is situated surrounded by water.

Walking around the reservoir we can find a great variety of plants used in home made remedies such as Horehound, Bowline or Rosehip and a diversity of birds like the European Finch, the beautiful Azure-winged Magpie or the Hoopoe are amongst more than a 80 species. 

From October 6th to October 8th 2023 Villa Moana teamed up with Nateam- Escuela de naturaleza to bring the world of birds and medicinal plants to our customers in a fun manner.

 The first activity, Initiation to birdwatching,  was created to inspire in the participants a profound appreciation for birds and their habitats, encourage respect for wildlife and provide them with the necessary skills to enjoy the activity in a responsible and sustainable way. 

Sunday´s activity was a short walk of less than 3 kilometers long where we learned to differentiate over 30 species of plants and their use in therapy, medicine or cooking and wee got to take home an extended guide written by Natem with extra information on each one of the plants we saw during our walk.
